By submitting an order, you are accepting the Terms and Conditions of the Technologygurus.co.uk web site. Please read these terms of sale carefully before placing your order, and retain a copy of these terms, and your order for future reference. You may find it helpful to print a copy for information. The laws of the UK govern any contract between us.
a. When you register with this web site, you will be required to choose a contact email address and password. You are responsible for all sessions and transactions taken under these details. You should keep your password safe and not disclose it to anyone. You should change it immediately if you feel it has been compromised.
b. If any of your details change, you must inform Technology Gurus as soon as possible. You may update your details by signing into your account on the technologygurus.co.uk web site, and update the relevant section. We do not hold your credit card – these are only known by Paypal.
Please review our terms and conditions fully, before purchasing goods from Technology Gurus. The following Terms and Conditions in no way affect either your Legal Rights or protection that you may be given by your Credit Card Company or PayPal.
If you place an order it indicates that you accept these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with them, do not proceed further with your order and let us know your concerns via the Contact Us link and we will of course respond. We reserve the right, where necessary, to make changes to this website and to change our Terms and Conditions at any time.
Should a product be unavailable we will contact you before substituting alternative goods. You have no obligation to accept them, and if they do not prove satisfactory you do not have to bear the cost of returning them.
Making a contract with us
When you place an order with us, you are making an offer to buy goods. We will send you an e-mail to confirm that we have received your order. Once we have checked the price and availability of the goods, we will email you again to confirm that we accept your order, and that a contract has been made between us .We will not take payment until we have accepted your order.
In the unlikely event that goods are no longer available, or that we have made a pricing mistake, we will advise you of this. In these circumstances, you will not receive an e-mail confirming acceptance of your order, and there will be no contract between us.
Copyrights and Trademarks
This website and the Technology Gurus logo are owned by S Day. The use of the Technology Gurus name or logo without permission is strictly prohibited. Computer, Mobile and Printer manufacturer trademarks are owned by their respective companies and used on this website either to sell their own products (‘original’ product) or for clarification purposes. Any other trademarks used here are property of their respective holders.
Use of Site
All text, graphics and photos published on this site are copyrighted and may not be used, reproduced or displayed without permission.
The vast majority of orders will ship same or next working day, in the rare event that a product is not immediately available, you will be contacted via email or telephone and asked if you want to keep the order live. Technology Gurus reserves the right to refuse orders for any reason and to return immediately, any monies taken by credit card or other means.
We make every effort to clearly and fairly identify our products on our website and in any other promotional material. Price comparisons and other product information are collected from manufacturers’ specifications and advertised prices.
The following terms may be found on our site:
- Refurbished fuser unit and Maintenance kits. These are original manufacturer or compatible units that have been cleaned, refurbished and tested (including replacing parts where appropriate) to the highest standard. They can be expected to match or exceed the performance and quality of the original product.
Retention of Title
Technology Gurus retains title to all goods supplied until such time as they have been fully paid for. All ownership, title and risk of loss and/or damage in the goods purchased shall pass to you at the point and time at which the goods are allocated and/or charged to your card or account. The sale takes place in the United Kingdom and UK law applies.
Returns Policy for Consumers – Distance Selling
For Consumers (Private Individuals and not Business Customers; we would classify any delivery to a business address to be a Business Customer and not a Consumer).
Under the European Consumer Rights Directive from 13th of June 2014 as part of UK law the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 will apply. These provide a cooling-off period of 14 calendar days from the day after the item was delivered to you. If you wish to cancel your contract, you can do so at any time up to 14 days after receipt. To do this please contact Customer Services (details on Contact Us page) and obtain a returns number. If you cancel within this period you will be responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us.
You then have an additional 14 calendar days from when you let us know to actually return the item or provide proof of the return. Please ensure that you include all of the goods/parts supplied, and the original packaging. You are responsible for taking reasonable care of these goods. If you cancel your order in this period, and we receive the goods back within 14 days of cancellation, we will refund the full cost of the item within 14 days. You do not have to give any reason for this cancellation but a brief explanation will help us improve the service we offer customers in the future.
Where a device has been personalised (for example by the customer connecting the device to a digital service that locks or customises the device to the individual) this will constitute an exception to the right to withdraw from the contract.
Please note that if you have commenced using any product or service after receiving these terms and conditions, you will be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions, and agree that you will also lose your statutory right of cancellation under the Regulations.
Returns policy for business customers
For Business Customers (we would classify any delivery to a business address to be a Business Customer) if you wish to cancel or reject your order, you must contact us for a returns number within 7 days of receiving the goods. If this is the case, the goods must be returned with their original packaging and unopened. Goods must be returned at your own cost and risk, and must be received in their original condition as they were delivered to you. Your payment will be refunded as soon as possible after the goods are returned to us. We will deduct the original shipping costs from any refund, and reserve the right to impose a proportional fee if the goods are not returned in the condition they were supplied in.
Our returns policies do not affect your legal right for example, if your goods are faulty or incorrect.
Damage in Transit
If you take delivery of a Technology Gurus product, and either the package or the contents appear to be damaged in transit we must be told within 7 days of receipt. See our Contact Us link to request a return authorisation number. Please make a note on the envelope or box of your Account Reference shown on the delivery note. Please retain the packaging and return it to us for an exchange. Goods must be returned sealed and unused. We will reimburse reasonable postal costs incurred in returning damaged items to us.
Defective or Miss Described Product
- If the product you consider to be defective is an “original” product, that is to say manufactured by the “Original” manufacturer you should first contact the manufacturer direct. See their website. Many manufacturers require direct contact from end users in respect of faulty product and will take the appropriate action. We of course accept that your contract is with us so please contact us in addition to the manufacturer.
- If you consider that you have a defective ‘refurbished’ product please contact customer service (details on contact us page) and you will be contact within two working days. If we cannot resolve the issue, you will be given a returns number and the product will be replaced.
- If you consider the product description to be mis-described, please contact us for further advice.
- Do remember that many printer parts serve a number of different printers using the same engine and that your product may not be listed on the box. Check on our website one of the products listed to see if it uses the same code product as your printer, if it does, you can use the product with confidence.
- If you still believe that you have received an incorrect product, contact us and we will check for you.
Service provision and cancellation
Where a sale includes a service, for example to install a fuser unit or maintenance kit on your premises, we will offer a next day service providing your payment is received by us by 4PM the day before. As details of your payment are communicated to us via the internet, we cannot be held responsible for a delay caused by late receipt of this communication. Also if for exceptional circumstances we are unable to perform the service on the next working day, we will contact you, and at your option either re-schedule or refund your money. Once a service had been scheduled it cannot be cancelled. These goods are guaranteed for 90 days after installation on a return to base basis.
Where an on-going service has been provided for example via a phone and SIM card, the terms and conditions of that mobile phone network apply, and are between you and that network. You are advised to check their terms and conditions and network coverage before your purchase. If you cancel your SIM card, you will be liable for loss of any credits.
After sales service & Warranty
We are keen to have happy customers, and will do our utmost to get you working. Unfortunately a small number of products will go wrong. Where possible, we will help you directly. In some circumstances, the manufacturers guarantee or warranty will be needed. Sometimes these are only available to the owner of the product. In these cases, we will assist you but the most efficient solution for you will be between you and the manufacturer.
In addition to the cooling off period all goods are sold with a manufacturer’s warranty. These are available for inspection on the relevant manufacturer’s website.
- For Wiko Smartphones these come with an EU 24 month manufacturer’s warranty.
- For refurbished Laser printer fusers and maintenance kits, these have a 90 day return to base warranty.
- All other products come with a 12 month warranty.
All goods returned under warranty must be returned at the owners cost unless the manufacturer, at their discretion, determines otherwise. The return location will be specified by the manufacturer.
Should you have a complaint against us, please contact us giving details of your complaint and any relevant information. We will endeavour to respond to any complaint within five working days and to resolve any issues as soon as possible. Any disputes not resolved by our normal complaints procedure will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales under English law.
